Community Events
Canada Day
- Held every July 1st @ the MMM Hall and Henry McKay Ball Grounds
- Includes BBQ supper, kids games, horseshoe tournament and fireworks
Community Gardening Project
- Funded by Manitoba Food Charter
- Fruit trees, raspberry bushes and strawberry plants
- Vegetables are planted every June and maintained by community volunteers
Grandparents Day
- An annual event that takes place at Lakefront School to honor grandparents
Winter Skating/Hockey Program
- Skating and hockey program from December - March
- Supervised skating/hockey for all ages
Summer Jobs Programs (Green Team and EYC)
- Crane River Community Council implements student summer work program July - August through Green Team, Summer Career Placement and Environmental Youth Corps
Annual Halloween Party
- Crane River Recreation Committee hosts an annual Halloween Party at the MMM Hall
- Games and costume judging
Winter Poker Derby
- Recreation Committee hosts fun poker derby every winter
Summer Baseball Evenings
- Recreation Committee hosts weekly supervised (fun) recreational baseball evening for all ages July - August
CDPI Garden Seed Program
- Crane River is part of the Northeast CDPI (Chronic Disease Prevention Initiative) cluster
- The cluster provides garden seed distribution, physical activity program and non-smoking prevention
